Sometimes we just need a little nudge in the right direction – a jump-start, and that can apply to just about anything in life can’t it?

I believe Epicurious is on to something here –  Doable Challenges:   Together, taking on one little change at a time, we’ll be on the path to our more energetic and healthy selves!

Just one change each month – I can do that, and so can you!  So I’m “throwing down the gauntlet” , inviting (and challenging) you to join me on this monthly adventure!  Goin’ it alone is no fun, and as Tecumseh, a Shawnee Indian chief once said:  ”A single twig breaks easily, but a bundle of twigs is strong”.


  • I’ll provide links to Epi’s challenge each month. Choose a recipe from their suggestions or one of your own that follow the theme of that month for your post.
  • You will also receive a link code each month to connect your blog to the hop.
  • Our first post is scheduled for Friday, February 1st – 12:00 p.m. CST (the link will open at midnight on 2/1)  Subsequent months we will publish our posts on the LAST Friday of each month but being short on time this go round I wanted to give everyone an extra day.   If you can’t make this timeline, you can post up until 12:00 p.m. the following Monday if necessary (we’re flexible!).  Be sure to share any ideas or suggestions that have helped you – we’re in this together for support and encouragement!
  • Please add a link in your post back to this post (not my blog’s home page) so that more people might be able to join us!

Are you a breakfast skipper?  It’s time to rethink that…especially if you’re trying to lose weight.   Hard to believe I know, but studies show folks who eat breakfast weigh less than those who skip it.    Not only that, breakfast means to break the fast – literally.  You haven’t eaten since the night before, your blood sugar is low, and you need some fuel (aka glucose) in your tank to perform your best every day.
